True or Not: Dr M not in ICU as claimed in viral message

PETALING JAYA: A viral message on social media claiming that former premier Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has been admitted into the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for breathing difficulties is false.

Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) posted a message on its official Facebook page to deny the rumours that had been circulating on Tuesday.

“We would like to note that the message circulating below is not true at all,” the party said in the posting, attaching a copy of the message that was being shared widely by netizens.

It claimed that Bersatu chairman Dr Mahathir had been admitted into the ICU at Putrajaya Hospital, quoting a source as saying that the former prime minister suffered breathing difficulties while heading to a function with leaders in Puchong.
