Two killed, ex-Barisan rep hurt in accident

KUALA KUBU BARU: Former Batang Kali Barisan Nasional assemblyman Datuk Mohd Isa Abu Kasim was injured in an accident involving two vehicles that killed two people near Serendah Golf Club at Jalan Ipoh-Kuala Lumpur near here.

Two others who were travelling in a four-wheel-drive with Mohd Isa, including his 20-year-old daughter, were also injured.

Hulu Selangor OCPD Supt Lim Bak Phai said the crash involving Mohd Isa’s vehicle and a car occurred at about 9.20am yesterday.

Supt Lim said that the accident was believed to have occurred when the car was overtaking a vehicle when it collided with Mohd Isa’s vehicle head-on.

He added that the two people in the other car died on the spot. The driver was identified as Mohd Radhi Samsudin, 33, and his passenger Mohd Khairul Azwan Madon, 30.

Supt Lim said the driver of the 4WD vehicle Zaiful Zainal, 44, suffered injuries on his legs and chest while his passengers Mohd Isa, 52, suffered a broken left leg and his daughter Nurlisa Liyahusna sustained light injuries on her right hand.

The bodies of Mohd Radhi and Mohd Khairul were sent to the Kuala Kubu Baru Hospital for a post-mortem while those injured were being treated at Selayang Hospital.
