Express bus catches fire in Johor

BATU PAHAT: An express bus carrying 10 passengers burst into flames on the North-South Expressway heading towards Johor Baru.

The bus was charred to the core after it caught fire at KM121.4 at the Pagoh-Yong Peng stretch of the highway, said Batu Pahat OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Wahib Musa.

He said all 10 passengers and the 53-year-old driver managed to escape unhurt in the 1.45pm incident.

"The fire was believed to have started from the rear wheels," said ACP Abdul Wahib.

The case is still being investigated, he added.
