Thousands arrive for cross-legged sitting meal record attempt with Najib

BUKIT MERTAJAM: Thousands have arrived at Politeknik Seberang Perai here to "feast" with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak in a bid to make it into the Malaysia Book Of Records.

About 20,000 people are expected to make an attempt at the record for the highest number of people gathered to have a meal while sitting cross-legged on the ground.

Counters and booths have been opened to register those who want to be part of this feat at the field of the polytechnic.

Umno members and students were seen registering themselves and receiving a sticker afterwards.

However, it is uncertain if the registered participants will actually dine with Najib, who is expected to arrive at about noon.

Other activities such as exhibitions and a food truck parade have been organised.

Pupils donned in colourful costumes holding the Jalur Gemilang are also doing a final rehearsal to welcome Najib.
