KLANG: The Datuk Seri accused of beating up a couple during a recent bar brawl in Bandar Baru Klang has been remanded for three days.
The remand order was granted by the Klang magistrate’s court yesterday.
According to North Klang OCPD Asst Comm Mazelan Paijan, the man was being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt with a dangerous weapon.
“So far, he is the only one remanded to help with the investigations,” said ACP Mazelan when contacted yesterday.
The man had turned himself in at the North Klang police headquarters.
Last Monday, Thoo Kang Wei, 33, and his girlfriend Chong Sook Kuan claimed that they suffered cuts and bruises when they were assaulted by the Datuk Seri and his friends.
The couple claimed that the assailants confronted and threw glasses at them for being “too noisy”.
Thoo claimed that the flying glass debris resulted in him receiving about 60 stitches in the head.
He said he was in a coma for a day.
Chong, meanwhile, claimed she suffered cuts on her face.
