ALOR SETAR: Police detained a man with the title of “Datuk” at a hotel here on Wednesday over his alleged involvement in a medal scam using the name of a member of the royalty.

Kedah police chief Datuk Asri Yusoff said the suspect, in his 50s, was picked up at the medal presentation ceremony at 1.30pm following a public tip-off on the function, which was organised by a volunteer association in Perak.
