GEORGE TOWN: Thousands of people were late for work following a road closure from Paya Terubong to Relau on Thursday morning.

The closure was due to a stalled trailer, which broke down since Wednesday evening.

The stalled trailer.

This resulted in traffic jams as road users heading from Paya Terubong to Relau had to turn back and use alternative routes such as Lebuhraya Thean Teik, Lorong Batu Lanchang and Jalan Masjid Negeri to their workplaces.
