Police arrest student over rape of 15-year-old

KAJANG: Police arrested a 19-year-old boy for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl at his uncle’s house after luring her into joining him and his relatives for dinner.

Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yusoff said the unemployed suspect had allegedly invited the Form Three student to dinner at his uncle’s house on July 31 and convinced her that they would not be alone.

“He told her his uncle would be there but when she arrived at the house, the uncle was nowhere in sight,” ACP Ahmad Dzaffir said.

With no other witnesses around, the suspect then told the victim to lie down and raped her.

She lodged a police report the next day accompanied by her family and was also sent to the Kajang Hospital for treatment.

It is believed that the girl had got to know the suspect through the WeChat mobile messaging service, but it is not known how long the teenagers have been communicating with each other.

The suspect has been remanded for three days until Friday and police are continuing their investigations.
