PETALING JAYA: A video of a van crashing into a door at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) building has gone viral.

Photos of the half-exposed van and injured MAS staff members were also widely circulated on social media.

Malaysia Airlines (MAS) confirmed in a statement Thursday that the vehicle in the video belongs to the company.

MAS said that the company van had "collided with a door" in the airside area at KLIA on Wednesday.

Airside areas in an airport include those accessible to the aircraft such as runways, taxiways and aprons.

"The driver and passenger are Malaysia Airline's staff and they were taken to a hospital and are recovering," said MAS.

"The preliminary investigation has shown that the driver became incapacitated while driving just before the incident.

"Safety is the number one priority at Malaysia Airlines and a full investigation in co-operation with Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) is ongoing," added MAS.
