KUALA LUMPUR: The Dewan Rakyat Speaker has rejected a motion to debate the action of Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi regarding Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad's personal information.

Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia told the House that the issue should not be meddled with as it was being investigated by the authorities.

Kulai MP Teo Nie Ching told a press conference that Pandikar said in writing that he was leaving the matter to be decided by the courts.

She had questioned as to whether the Deputy Prime Minister had breached the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) through his actions.

The DAP leader also questioned Pandikar's decision to reject the motion.

On Sunday, Ahmad Zahid said that he had seen older versions of the identity card of Dr Mahathir and told the Kelana Jaya Umno division annual general meeting that the former premier Dr Mahathir was not of a "Malay" lineage.
