JOHOR BARU: Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin has likened Pakatan Harapan to someone building a home with old workers.

The Johor Mentri Besar was responding to the Opposition’s statement that it would rebuild the nation if it came to power.

“To rebuild a house, logically, requires strategy and has to be done in phases; one by one, and by using new workers who are better and more equipped.

“Not by destroying it and building it again from the ground up using old workers and in this case, old leaders from the ruling party,” he said in his address at the state Barisan Nasional convention here on Saturday.

Khaled also questioned the Opposition’s allegation that Barisan was responsible for damaging the country.

“The Opposition has been telling the people that Barisan was responsible for damaging the country but weren’t Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin also responsible for building that house in the first place?” he said.

Mohamed Khaled added that people must be informed of the Opposition’s true intentions.

He added that Barisan must go on the offensive against Opposition’s various attacks.

“Sometimes I regret our silence and ‘wait and see’ attitude while the Opposition is out there throwing all sorts of claims at us,” he said.

He also called on Barisan leaders to send a strong message to the people that the coalition represents Team Malaysia, and not just Umno, MCA, MIC, Gerakan and MyPPP respectively acting on their own.
