PENGERANG: A man with HIV was detained in raids at two massage parlours in Sungei Rengit on Friday.
The man was detained with a local man and four Nepalese men, believed to be workers at the outlets, together with 42 foreign guest relations officers (GROs) by Immigration officers.
“Initial investigations revealed that one of the men is HIV positive,” state Immigration enforcement chief Masri Adul said in a statement on Saturday.
Masri said the women GROs were aged between 21 and 37.
Twenty-six of them are Indonesians, while 15 are from Vietnam and the other from Thailand, he said.
All the detainees were taken to the Johor Immigration enforcement department at Kompleks Kementrian Dalam Negeri (KDN) at Setia Tropika for further action.
Masri said the department had conducted surveillance of the massage parlours since the outlets opened some six months ago.
“Checks revealed that the outlets offered sex services using the foreign GROs for as low as RM100,” he said.
