BUTTERWORTH: Two Nepalese factory workers were sentenced to three months jail and fined RM10,000 each for bribing a policeman early this month.

Tamang Dhan Bahadur, 33, and Biswakarma Hiran, 25, pleaded guilty to the offence under Section 17(b) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009 yesterday.

They were charged with offering a RM100 bribe to a policeman in Bukit Tengah after they were caught riding a motorcycle without a valid licence at about 11.10am on July 2.

Magistrate Sitarun Nisa Abdul Aziz ordered both to serve the sentence from the date of their arrest.

She also fined them RM10,000 each, or a month’s jail in default. Both men were unrepresented.
