PETALING JAYA: Malaysians looking to invest in Latin America should attend a lecture at Universiti Malaya on investment opportunities there.
Entitled "Trade and Business Opportunities in Argentina", the lecture will be conducted by Argentine Ambassador to Malaysia Manual Jose Balaguer Salas (pic) on Monday.
Salas will be talking on potential trade and economic opportunities in Argentina's key sectors, according to the university's press release.
Salas will talk on his Government's initiatives to boost the economy and foster opportunities for commerce, investment and foreign partnerships, especially involving Malaysian companies.
Organised by the Equitable Society Research Cluster and the Centre for Latin America Studies, and co-hosted by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation, the lecture will start at 9am at UM's Azman Hashim building auditorium.
Key sectors in Argentina include agribusiness, automobiles, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology.
The country is regarded as a potential regional economic powerhouse considering its natural resource and ideal landscape for the development of wind, solar, biomass and hydro power.
Having suffered from inflation in recent years, Argentina is keen to attract foreign investors.
