Lorry mishap causes 3km crawl on Elite Highway

It is learnt that the driver had lost control of his vehicle, causing it to hit the road divider and spilling its cargo of mosaic tiles onto the highway.

PETALING JAYA: An early morning accident involving a lorry on KM10.7 of the Elite Highway heading to Shah Alam, resulted in a 3km bumper-to-bumper crawl on Saturday.

Selangor traffic police spokesperson said the 5am incident had initially blocked three lanes on the highway.

It is learnt that the driver had lost control of his vehicle, causing it to hit the road divider and spilling its cargo of mosaic tiles onto the highway.

The lorry driver escaped unhurt but his passenger, who was injured in the mishap, was sent to Hospital Putrajaya for treatment.

As at press time, the lorry has been towed away and normal traffic flow has also resumed.

Clean-up work is still ongoing according to traffic police.
