Eye-opening event: Teachers and T-Help assistants taking part in The Star-NiE workshop which was held at SMKA Dato’ Haji Abbas in Kuala Terengganu. Looking on are (standing from right) Cherubin, Petronas executive (Communication and Branding Sponsorship and Talent Sourcing Unit Group Human Resource Management) Nor Adreen Nordin, Yayasan Terengganu deputy director of education Dr Hashim Azmi Che Noh and Star Media Group Bhd senior executive, Audience Management, Rofit Miah Abd Karim.

KUALA TERENGGANU: It was not just the students but also teachers who found it fun using newspapers in the classroom when The Star’s Newspapers-in-Education (NiE) kicked off its latest programme in Terengganu.

The workshop impressed the 100 participants who included teachers, T-Help (Terengganu Hired English Language Personnel) assistants and students as it opened a new avenue of teaching students how to read, write and communicate in English.
