KUALA LUMPUR: The Kota Baru Municipal Council (MPKB) has been lambasted for issuing summonses to the organiser of a private fund-raising event for not applying for a permit to hold performances during the function.

MCA Youth chief Datuk Chong Sin Woon said it was ridiculous of the Kota Baru Municipal Council (MPKB) to issue summonses for the event meant to raise funds for three Chinese primary schools with low enrolment.
