JOHOR BARU: Police have detained a 56-year-old woman who drove her Perodua Kenari against traffic near Gelang Patah here.

A video clip showing the car going against traffic was uploaded on Facebook by user Nicholas Lim.

Iskandar Puteri OCPD Asst Comm Noor Hashim Mohamad confirmed that the incident occurred around noon on Sunday.

He said the driver was going against traffic along the Second Link Expressway heading towards Senai.

“She was caught by traffic police at Pekan Nenas and we are investigating the incident under Section 42 of the Road Transport Act for reckless driving,” he said yesterday.

In a separate case, a Vietnamese construction worker is believed to have been killed at the Encorp Marina Puteri Harbour workers’ enclave.

ACP Noor Hashim said the victim’s identity has yet to be confirmed but the deceased is believed to be in his 30s.

“The man was found lying in a pool of blood at about 10.15pm on Saturday.

ACP Noor Hashim also said that a post-mortem report revealed that the victim was hit in the head with a heavy object and died due to excessive bleeding.
