Pahang MB proposes extending bauxite mining moratorium until next GE

KUANTAN: The Pahang government is agreeable to extending the moratorium on bauxite mining activates here until the next general election.

"When we say up to the general election, that is because the present government's mandate is limited up that period. There is nothing political about this but people might interpret it as 'mining will continue after the elections'," Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob (pic) told reporters during his Hari Raya Aidilfitri open house here on Sunday.
