PUTRAJAYA: When his staff suggested that he make a video for his Hari Raya greeting this year, Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Dahlan was game – on condition they join him in it.
The video features the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department and his team – known as Team RD – performing an upbeat Hari Raya number titled Warna Warni Aidilfitri.
His wife Datin Seri Norazlina Awang Had and their three children are also in the clip.
Rahman’s principal private secretary Jessylina Mat Lazim said: “He was all for it on the condition that we join him in the video. We are his staff but he regards us as family. Our camaraderie is strong.”
The video has a message from Rahman and Team RD, in which they hope that the month of Syawal will open a new chapter for everyone to live in peace and harmony under #NegaraKuMalaysia.

In Petaling Jaya, the Malaysian Associated Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry urged Malaysians to celebrate Hari Raya together to strengthen social bonds.
Its president Tan Sri Kenneth Eswaran, in conveying his Hari Raya wishes, said the celebration was a joyous occasion for all Malaysians.
“The celebration of religious festivals by all in Malaysia is highly admired by the world at large. This truly makes Malaysia, NegaraKu,” he said in a statement yesterday.
He said it was a well-established tradition among Malaysians during Hari Raya to wish and exchange greetings with their friends, colleagues and relatives.
He added that this bond was further strengthened by visits to open houses.
Kenneth said the spirit of sharing, tolerance and understanding also strengthened the nation’s resilience in withstanding global economic challenges.
“Peace, harmony and political stability should not be taken for granted and are ever so important in today’s world that is troubled and divided by so much political and religious conflict,” he said.
