PETALING JAYA: The Pujut by-election which was previously set to take place on July 4 has officially been cancelled by the Election Commission (EC).
In a statement on Monday, EC chairman Datuk Seri Mohd Hashim Abdullah said that the commission had met to discuss the issue after the Kuching High Court on June 17 overruled the decision of the Sarawak State Assembly to sack Dr Ting Tiong Choon as the Pujut assemblyman.
