PUTRAJAYA: The 16 men imprisoned for the 2013 Lahad Datu intrusion will serve out jail sentences ranging from 13 to 18 years after withdrawing their appeal against those convictions. However, nine of them will continue with an appeal against another conviction for which they received life sentences.

Court of Appeal judge Justice Mohd Zawawi Salleh, who chaired a three-man panel, then affirmed Kota Kinabalu High Court judge Justice Stephen Chung’s decision on their conviction and sentencing last July.
