Unemployed man found dead along Ipoh-Lumut Road

IPOH: A 30-year-old unemployed man was found dead with multiple slash wounds to his head and body at KM6 of the Ipoh-Lumut Road near Taman Kledang Emas and Taman Rishah here.

Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Sum Chang Keong said a person stumbled upon the body of S. Ganasan sprawled by the side of the road before informing the police at about 10.30am today.

ACP Sum said the victim who was from Buntong was slashed on the head, neck, hands and legs and added that the case was classified as a murder.

"A post-mortem revealed that he had died of excessive bleeding from his neck wounds.However, no weapons were found at the crime scene," ACP Sum said, adding that the victim had five criminal records including two drug-related offences.

Police later arrested a 23-year-old unemployed male to assist in investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code, he said.
