MMA wants ministry to review long hours for doctors


PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Medical Association has urged the Health Ministry to review the hours kept by medical practitioners who work for long stretches and night shifts.

“Special attention must be given to those in highly stressful specialties like anaesthesia and critical care, emergency medicine and trauma, obstetrics and paediatrics,” MMA president Dr Ravindran R. Naidu said in a statement yesterday.
