Police officer found with gunshot wound to the head in Pasir Puteh

KOTA BARU: A 29-year-old police officer was found with a gunshot wound to the head at his office in Pasir Puteh.

Insp Ahmad Al-Syamir Sharif Folidin was found slumped in his chair at 9.40am Thursday when an officer went to check on him after he did not attend the morning meeting.

He was believed to have been shot with a Walther P99  pistol.

Pasir Puteh police confirmed the incident.

Kelantan acting police chief Senior Asst Comm Din Ahmad said the case has been classified as sudden death.

Insp Ahmad, who hailed from Selangor, had been an officer in the commercial crime division at the Pasir Puteh district police headquarters since May 8 last year.
