Past employers have good things to say about Cambodian maids

A total of 1,020 women interviewed between March 2015 and May 2016 at Jakarta's main airport said they were travelling abroad for the first time to seek jobs as maids. About 90 percent of them were bound for Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar and Kuwait, the poll showed. The rest were going to Malaysia, which is not affected by the ban.

PETALING JAYA: Previous employers of Cambodian maids say their willingness to work hard is a trait that will always make these workers a welcome addition here.

Penang-based general manager Corina Tan, 49, said she had a Cambodian maid from 2009 until the freeze in 2011.
