KUALA LUMPUR: Pertubuhan Pribumi Perkasa Malaysia (Perkasa) has failed in its bid to intervene in a suit filed by Mohamed Tawfik Ismail relating to the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act 1965, with the court ruling that the non-governmental organisation has no interest in the case.
Perkasa had applied for leave to intervene in Mohamed Tawfik's suit over the tabling of the proposed amendments to the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act 1965, also known as RUU355.
