Trader jailed for sending lewd photos to R.AGE journalist

PETALING JAYA: A 38-year-old night market trader has been sentenced by a magistrate's court here to seven months in jail for sending a lewd photo to a R.AGE journalist posing as an underage girl.

Ahmad Azwan Abdul Aziz was found guilty of sending the photo, of a penis, through WeChat at 3.37pm on March 10, last year.

The R.AGE journalist was involved in the team's Predator In My Phone undercover investigation of online child sex predators.

The case is the first conviction based on the R.AGE team's investigations.

He was also fined RM4,000 in default of three months in jail.
