PETALING JAYA: More than 20,000 homes will be on sale under the 1Malaysia People’s Housing (PR1MA) scheme this year.
Perbadanan PR1MA Malaysia chief executive officer Datuk Abdul Mutalib Alias said 21,672 units with an estimated gross development value of RM2.3bil would be offered during PR1MA’s open days held nationwide throughout this year.
“The PR1MA open day is an interactive way for us to meet them (homebuyers) personally and explain our products,” he said at a press conference here yesterday.
Abdul Mutalib said PR1MA was “putting in place” the foundation for its mission and was ready to promote its products, with the open days serving as one-stop centres where interested homebuyers could register.
They can also check their eligibility for financing with agencies such as the Central Credit Reference Information System, as well as various financing schemes during the open days.
“We have also improved our system so that the waiting time will not be long,” he added.
To date, PR1MA has held 30 open days and 26 mini open days nationwide, with the latter targeting corporate and government officers.
PR1MA will also open more galleries to make it easier for homebuyers to browse its products.
So far, PR1MA has completed 8,475 homes and 12 show houses at project sites in Kuala Ketil and Sungai Petani 2 in Kedah, all the way to Bandar Meru Raya in Perak and Cyberjaya in Selangor.
As of April, 1,426,727 Malaysians have registered with PR1MA, with 166,972 applying for PR1MA housing.
To date, PR1MA’s Member of Corporation has approved the construction of 265,033 units, with 139,419 currently under various stages of construction.
Abdul Mutalib said construction of these projects could take anywhere from 24 to 36 months.
“It depends on approvals because in some states they are quicker, while in others it may take longer.
“This is not something unique to PR1MA, as it applies to the industry in general,” he added.
Interested homebuyers can get more details on the various projects, their eligibility and future open days at www.pr1ma.my or on Facebook (PR1MA Homes).
