IPOH: Three first-timers have Lady Luck to thank after taking home the top three lucky draw prizes at Ipoh Starwalk 2017.

The luckiest among them was university student Siti Nadhirah Meow, 23, who won the first prize – a three-day, two-night stay at Pangkor Laut Resort worth RM5,000 and a Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro smartphone sponsored by YTL Communications Sdn Bhd.

She also won a YES Altitude 4G LTE smartphone from the telecommunication company’s “Stop and Win” contest, where participants had to perform tasks at several pit stops along the 7km walk yesterday.

Siti Nadhirah was thankful that her sister was late to fetch her after the walk.

“I was actually ready to go home. I am so ecstatic,” she said.

“I plan to go (to the resort) with my mother. I will also give her my new Samsung phone.”

Logistics executive Royani Abdul Rahman, 36, also won the free resort stay and a Samsung Galaxy A7 smartphone.

“My heart was pounding when the emcee announced the first four digits of the lucky draw number.

“Even before announcing the last digit, the emcee asked me if I would bring my friends, who were with me, to the resort if I won and I said yes,” Royani said.

Remisier Jannatunna’im Sabdin, 46, won the third prize – a 43-inch Singer LED television sponsored by Sports Toto.

“This will be a slight upgrade to my current 42-inch TV at home,” she said.

Other lucky draw prizes included the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8, Soleus GPS Turbo watches, bicycles, household appliances and hotel stays.
