100 homes hit by flash floods


Losing sleep: Residents of Taman Dato Kumbar waiting for floodwaters to subside after the three-hour downpour that lasted until 11pm.

ALOR SETAR: A three-hour downpour caused about 100 houses in several villages near here to be inundated including Kubang Rotan where residents considered it the worst flood they could remember.

Kedah Civil Defence Force spokesperson said the rain lasted from about 8pm until 11pm on Friday. However, there was no evacuation required.
