Scholars get direct line to the King

PETALING JAYA: Muslim scholars around the country who face any issues concerning Islam no longer need to go through third parties to discuss them with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong – he has given them his personal cellphone number.

Kelantan Mufti Datuk Mohamad Shukri Mohamad said this was the decree of Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Muhammad V when he was the Sultan of Kelantan. Since he has become the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, all Muslim scholars now have a direct line to him as the head of Islam in the country.
