KUALA LUMPUR: Stamps issued in conjunction with the installation of the new Yang di-Pertuan Agong will go on sale today.
A Pos Malaysia statement said the stamps will be sold at post offices across the country, except for Perlis, Kedah and Negri Sembilan, where the stamps will go on sale a day later.
Issued in honour of and as a token of appreciation for Sultan Muhammad V, the stamps will feature the King in formal attire as head of state as well as use gold print ink.
The stamp collection, titled Raja Sebagai Pemerintah Negara (the King as the Country’s Ruler), is being released in two designs – 200,000 perforated pieces to be sold at 60 sen each, and 5,000 non-perforated ones worth RM12 apiece.
Collectors can also buy the First Day Cover with a stamp priced at RM1.15 while that with a miniature sheet will cost RM5.85.
They can also purchase the complete set of folder at RM44.10.
