Police: We’ll go all out to curb the menace


JOHOR BARU: In the first three months of this year, the state police arrested 135 loan sharks with 26 of them charged in court and seven charged under the Prevention of Crime Act 1959.

State deputy police chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Mohd Zakaria Ahmad said following the recent expose in The Star of the Johor-based Ah Long syndicate that raked in at least RM3mil a month over the past three years, the force would continue to cooperate with Bukit Aman in curbing the menace.
