PETALING JAYA: Come have some fun with your favourite 988 radio DJs at the 988 City event and stand to win cash and prizes worth up to RM20,000.
The event, which was launched yesterday, is held from 10am to 10pm daily until Sunday at One Utama (Old Wing) here.
Modelled after a mini metropolis – complete with amusement park, main stage, games and merchandise booths – 988 City is the final stop of the radio station’s month-long #988CityHunter tour around Malaysia.
Visitors will be given a “passport” for playing games at the various game booths. They can win prizes and collect passport stamps.
Each fully-stamped passport entitles the holder to a chance at winning bigger prizes, including RM10,000 cash, by collecting the most points in the two main challenge games – “Dance for Fun” and “Virtual Reality”.
988 City’s main stage will feature performances and appearances by local artistes, including Hanz Guo Wen Han, Natalia, Danny One, Cheryl Lee, Ribbon Ooi and Daniel Che, among others.
“Radio isn’t just limited to what you hear on air anymore. By organising interactive events, we can reach our listeners face-to-face and give them truly holistic entertainment,” said Calvin Kan, chief executive officer of Star Media Radio Group (SMRG) during the launch.
“We want to thank our listeners and clients for the support they have given us. All our achievements over the last 21 years would not have been possible without each and every one of you,” he added.
Also present at the launch were representatives from 988 City’s main sponsor, Cuckoo; brand partner dimsum; and official home design interior exhibition, Homedec.
