Skippers jump ship, abandon 200kg of illegal catch

A check on the two pump boats led to the discovery of the various types of fish and equipment believed used in fish bombing.

KOTA KINABALU: Maritime authorities seized some 200kg of fish believed to be caught using explosives in the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park, not far from here, early Wednesday.

Kota Kinabalu Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency director Maritime First Admiral Adam Aziz said the fish was seized from two pump boats that were abandoned following a chase near Pulau Gaya at about 12.40am.
