School land-ed with ‘get out’ order


Suddenly homeless: SJK(C) Yeok Kheong in Selama, founded in 1923, relocated to the current site in 1957.

ALOR SETAR: After operating for more than 90 years, a vernacular school in southern Kedah is suddenly left “homeless”. It has been ordered to relocate within three months following a court order over a land dispute.

Yesterday, the High Court here ordered SJK(C) Yeok Kheong in Selama to demolish its premises and return the 1.2ha land to a descendant of the late landlord.
