PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Bar is deeply concerned about Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang’s Private Member’s Bill, saying the proposed amendments were problematic.
Its president George Varughese said the manner in which the Bill defined the limits of punishment without disclosing the offence it would be attached to raised issues of appropriateness and proportionality in sentencing.
