KUALA LUMPUR: PAS lawmaker Datuk Mahfuz Omar (pic) appears to be in the dark over the party's annual general assembly or muktamar, which is scheduled to take place at the end of the month in Kedah.
"No, I have no information, but it is usually held in June," he told reporters at the Parliament media centre on Tuesday.
The Pokok Sena MP also insisted that the muktamar will be held in June, despite being repeatedly corrected by the press.
"There's no muktamar in April, it is in June and I will attend it," he said.
Last year, PAS held its muktamar in late May, a few days before the fasting month of Ramadan.
This year, the fasting month begins in late May and Hari Raya will fall in late June.
Mahfuz is believed to be estranged from his party colleagues, and often sides with Pakatan Harapan, which PAS has disassociated itself with.
He is also often seen with Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia members led by former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
The PAS muktamar will take place in Alor Setar from April 27 to May 1, where party elections are also being held.
