KUALA LUMPUR: The Sexual Offences Against Children Bill 2017 was passed in the Dewan Rakyat Tuesday after two days of gruelling debates.
The Bill was passed by a majority voice vote.
A new clause had been inserted to provide rehabilitative counselling for offenders which shall be carried out in prison.
Earlier, Opposition lawmakers had tried to introduce several amendments to the Bill, including on child marriages, but they were rejected.
