Ex-captives aspire to be protectors

Together again: Mohd Ridzuan reuniting with his wife Hariyanti and their children at Najib’s residence at Jalan Duta in Kuala Lumpur.

KUALA LUMPUR: “Let the five of us be the last victims of this atrocity,” said Mohd Ridzuan Ismail after reuniting with his family here following his eight-month captivity on the Philippine island of Jolo.

Grateful to survive the ordeal, the 33-year-old sailor wants to join the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) to help protect Sabah’s east coast waters.
