PETALING JAYA: When he was in kindergarten, Dr Joshua Tan used to cry on the way to school, up to the point his mother had to home school him until he went to primary school.

The 28-year-old from Petaling Jaya has come full circle in his academic achievement and is the proud recipient of the Pfizer Research Foundation Prize, one of Switzerland’s most prestigious research awards.
