Stop using past sources to justify Syariah amendments, says Zaid

PETALING JAYA: Proponents of the proposed amendments to the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act 1965 should stop justifying the move by citing sources from the past, said former law minister Datuk Zaid Ibrahim (pic).

In a series of tweets on Saturday, Zaid said the morality and values of the past were not necessarily relevant today.
