ALOR SETAR: It was a day of mixed emotions for assistant engineer Muhamad Nor Akbar Naim who welcomed the arrival of his first born some two hours after his mother’s death.

Muhamad Nor, 23, said although he was saddened by the death of his mother Ramlah Ahmad, the birth of his baby boy brought him and his wife Nur Hidayah Ahmad Tahir, 22, tears of joy.
