JOHOR BARU: The Johor state religious committee supports proposed amendments to the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act 1965 (Act 355) as it believes it is necessary to ensure crimes concerning the Muslim community are curbed.

"The proposed amendment does not jeopardise the rights of the non-Muslims, so why should they be afraid?" said committee chairman Abd Mutalip Abd Rahim (pic).
