PETALING JAYA: The Star Education Fair 2017 in Penang will be held on March 25 and 26.

It was originally scheduled for March 4 and 5.

Exhibitors had requested for the change in dates following the Education Ministry’s announcement that the SPM results would be released on March 16 instead of the beginning of the month.

Exhibitors had prepared special enrolment packages for school leavers during the fair.

Student with SPM and STPM results can check out promotions and scholarships offered at the Star Education Fair 2017 at the Subterranean Penang International Convention and Exhibition (SPICE) Centre in Relau.

There would be more than 100 local and international institutions offering their programmes during the two-day fair.

Students unsure of what to do next can meet experts on pre-university courses along with representatives from colleges and universities.

Students with their parents can get details on a wide range of certificate, foundation, diploma and postgraduate courses besides professional qualifications – all under one roof during the fair.

KDU Penang University College, which had booked 16 booths, will highlight its internationally-acclaimed qualifications and dual-award programmes.

Its student recruitment manager Loo Hong Peng said there would be a series of activities prepared for visitors by KDU’s faculties.

“We want them to have a better understanding of the courses they wish to pursue,” he said.

INTI International College Penang has taken up 14 booths at this year’s fair.

Its admission and counselling director Patrick Ooi said students who sign up for courses at the college stand a chance to enjoy early bird discounts, scholarships and bursaries.

“Our deans and programme heads will also be present at the event to assist and counsel students and their parents about the choices they are interested in,” he said.

Limkokwing University of Creative Technology had taken 18 booths, which is the highest during the fair. Besides these promotions, visitors could also attend various education and career related talks at the fair.

The Star Education Fair will be open from 11am to 7pm. Admission is free.
