KUCHING: Puan Sri Jamilah Anu has been chosen as Barisan Nasional’s candidate for the Tanjong Datu by-election after a careful study and not just because she is the widow of the former assemblyman, says Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
The Deputy Prime Minister explained that Barisan did not have a policy of nominating the widow of an elected representative who died in office as the candidate for a by-election.
