Safety task force for Thaipusam

BUTTERWORTH: The Malaysia Hindu Sangam (MHS) has set up a task force comprising 250 volunteers to monitor the Thaipusam celebrations in Penang where two chariot processions will hit the streets on Feb 8.

Its national coordinator A. Tharman said the volunteers would mingle with the devotees during the three-day event and would report any unwanted incidents to the authorities.
