BUKIT MERTAJAM: A 26-year-old Nepalese man was found slashed to death at a children’s playground in Lorong Nagasari 1, Prai, here.

The body of Pandey Radhe Shyam was found by residents on their way to work at about 8am yesterday.

OCPD Asst Comm Nik Ros Azhan Nik Abdul Hamid said a police team was sent to the scene and a check showed that the deceased was slashed on the neck and stabbed in the abdomen.

“The Nepalese man was a factory worker at the Bukit Tengah Indus-trial Park,” he said.

“We are trying to determine the motive of the murder by interviewing his colleagues and checking his home.”

The body has been sent to the Seberang Jaya Hospital for a post-mortem.

In July last year, a fight in the same Taman Nagasari neighbourhood resulted in the death of three Myanmar nationals at their hostel.

Two were found half-naked at the porch of a double-storey terrace house while another was found outside the premises.
