Yeoh meets the Pope


Asian Strategy and Leadership Institute (Asli) chief executive officer Tan Sri Dr Michael Yeoh (left) was received by Pope Francis (right) at the Rome Roundtable in Italy. With them was Global Foundation secretary-general Steve Howard. Yeoh delivered a speech at the roundtable organised by Global Foundation with the aim of shaping a narrative for ‘co-operative globalisation’ that is inclusive and sustainable.It was a private, invitation-only dialogue for leaders from business, international institutions, academia, faiths, the media and civil society from all over the world. Yeoh said he stressed to Francis the concept of moderation - in which The Star has espoused in the form of a moderation campaign - and Francis was very receptive to it.
